Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage, or Part C, were started under the Balanced Budget Act of 1997 and signed into law by President Bill Clinton. Congress designed the Medicare Advantage program to give Medicare beneficiaries a lower-premium option for Medicare Beneficiaries. They are also much more available as only End Stage Renal Disease being the only condition denied for traditional plans. But there are specialty plans available for ESRD.

Medicare Advantage plans are NOT Medigap plans – they are different. Medigap plans work with your Medicare benefits while Medicare Advantage take place of your Medicare benefits with a private plan.
